thanks..

Thanks so much for your prayers for Finn!!

We are happy to let you know that he is feeling a lot better!! He's a little worn out in the evenings, due to low iron, but it's so nice to see him playing all day again!

Water

Getting clean water is a huge problem throughout Uganda. We recently took a tour of some of the local wells and bore holes that have been built by aid organizations and the government. Every one of the wells we visited was broken. The local people then have to collect their water from streams, ponds, or even large puddles, which is very dirty water.

We are very thankful that someone from home is coming to fill the role in Community Services this fall; we’ll then be able to stay on top of our community getting clean water!

This bore hole was built by the government in 1999 and from that time was used everyday for at least 18 hours a day, we just found out that it broke 6 months ago.

One of many families that now goes to this pond everyday to get their water.

Going thru town to carry the water back home.

A week in Mpigi

Our family just spent an entire week on the 10 acres in Mpigi! A team of 5 were visiting from Canada so we joined them in some meetings, painting part of a children’s home, and lots of play time with the 52 kids!! For our own kids it’s always like no time has passed, they all had a great week with their old friends. There were many Uganda vs Canada soccer games, Canada still can’t manage a win!!

Shannon also joined 3 others from the team on a day of care and compassion visits -- handing out food and mattresses to our neighbours that are in need, this is always a very emotional day for everyone.

It was wonderful to spend time with friends from home, we’re all feeling refreshed as we get back to things now in Kibaale!!

Friends with Mazzy
