Joel

Joel has become our crash test dummy here in Africa. If you want to know if a particular insect bites or not just ask Joel. He has picked up almost every insect here. The rest of us have not had more than a mosquito bite, but Joel has not only been bit by mosquitoes, also flies, fleas, spiders, termites, various types of ants, and he recently had a worm in his foot!. He’s gotten rashes from the plants and bushes, had bats fly at his head, and even had monkeys swat him and chase him! If you were to look at Joel’s legs you would think that he had been dragged behind a car, he is full of bruises, scrapes and bites. Despite this, Mpigi is really a perfect place for a kid like Joel. There are so many places to explore; he creates a new adventure for himself everyday!!
