We are in the midst of our annual Christmas Soccer Tournament in Kibaale. Our team, Kibaale United, has managed to get into the final game for the second year. The semi-final game was last weekend and was decided in penalty shots before a crowd of 500 people. Our goalkeeper is one of our students from Kibaale Secondary School, he saved 3 penalties for us in the semi-final game.
We changed things a bit this year and didn’t enter our own Kibaale Community Centre team into the tournament. Instead we combined forces with the rest of Kibaale town. Our team is a mix of students and staff from our centre as well taxi drivers, shopkeepers and butchers from Kibaale town. It’s been really neat for me (Jeff) being on the same team with these guys and having the whole town come out to the games and cheering for us!!
The final game is on Sunday night where we'll give away the grand prize, a cow!
