Special Ed

One of the classes we have in the Primary School is for children with special needs. The majority of the students in this program are deaf, but some of them also face other challenges.  Right now we have 15 students studying in this program at the Kibaale Community Centre; on top of learning sign language they are studying vocational type life skills like tailoring, carpentry and craft making.

It is generally hard for people in Uganda, especially as far away from a major city as we are, to receive an education or earn a living if you have a special need. We are so happy that these students are given this opportunity!
